mescaline

Mescaline occurs naturally in the peyote cactus, and has been used for over 3,000 years by Native Americans in Mexico to supplement various practices for transcendence, including in meditation, psychonautics, art projects, and psychedelic psychotherapy. Like LSD, mescaline use can result in hallucinations, synesthesia, and prominence of color and sound. Tolerance builds up with repeated usage, and effects can last up to 12 hours.
